Workouts For Summer | Some Type of Beauty

Beat the Heat Workouts!

We are just a few weeks away from the first day of summer! This is about the time when you're starting to kind of freak out because you realize that you need to start seriously getting your bikini body ready. It's time to start really cracking down on the things you eat and how much exercise you do a day.

Tummy-Flattening Smoothie!

Before I workout, I like to start with a nutritious smoothie. My favorite to make is banana berry. It's delicious, super healthy and simple to make, perfect for those mornings when you're in a rush.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Start with some ice
  2. Add the frozen fruit , half a banana
  3. Add almond milk for flavor (optional)
  4. Some honey for sweetness
  5. Add oats for texture
  6. Blend all together & enjoy!

LETS GET FIT!

At the start of my workout I always do cardio! Cardio is great way to keep your heart strong and increase your lung capacity. Not to mention it makes you feel good and naturally energized.

I usually start with a 5k run to get the blood pumping and loosen up my muscles. After my run , I start doing various ab exercises and planks in order to have a great core and abdominal muscles. I love doing planks because it works out multiple ab muscle groups not just isolating to one area.

We all struggle with achieving that ultimate flat stomach and sculpted abs. Exercising on a daily basis and eating clean is the best way to remove the fat in this location. One exercise in particular will help you to achieve this. It's called the torso twist. This exercise is great and it can make your abs look perfect, but it needs to be done regularly, steadily and slowly.

The exercise is done while standing straight with hands on the back area of the head. While in this position, move your torso to the left but nothing else should move except the torso. Need to hold this position for several seconds and then you need to go back to the first  position. Do the same for the other side.

Remember that the abs must be held tight when in the position. Do this exercise slow for the best results and do 15 to 20 reps.

Once I'm done with twists,  I move onto the standard one minute plank, remembering to tighten the core. After that, I do 20 reps of kneeling butt kicks to work my backside.. obviously.

This is a great beginner-style workout if you're trying to get back into the swing of things. Just remember that working out reduces stress and if you work hard enough, you'll be on your way to that rockin' bikini bod you've been wanting all year.
