What you need:
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
How to make it:
- Mix brown sugar, granulated sugar and pumpkin pie spice together, making sure there are no lumps.
- Add in oil and mix well.
- These keep well in a sealed, sanitized glass container for months. Just keep out of direct sunlight; as you would store the oil itself.
Flower Pen
Either if it is for your mum, your sister or your friend… They will all love it! This super cute gift idea will make her desk more cheerful and, for sure, she won't receive anything similar these Christmas.

- 1 pretty silk flower
- 1 ball-point pen
- 1 mason jar
- River rocks
- Floral tape

How to make it:
- Trim flower stem so the length will be just long enough for the stem to fit down into the pen.
- Add a thin amount of hot glue to flower stem, and insert into pen. Allow to dry.
- Begin to wrap the floral tape around the pen.
- Wrap all the way up to the base of the flower, then trim off the floral tape and secure.
- Now fill the jar with little river rocks, and pop your pretty flower pen into it!
Coffee Mug
The perfect gift for mum and dad! Specially in this season, when a warm coffee or tea is always appreciated. Also, this is something you could make for less than a dollar each, assuming you have a few oil-based Sharpies at home (we all have some!).
You can customize them however you like and to whoever they are.
What you need:
- 2 blank mugs
- a pencil
- an oil based permanent marker : Sharpie
- oven
How to make it:
- Start drawing the picture or writing your saying in pencil.
- Carefully trace over the pencil marks with a Sharpie. (It must be oil based or your project will not work. )
- Allow to dry for 2 hours.
- Wipe away pencil marks and any other blemishes.
- Place mugs in a cold oven and turn on temperature to 425 degrees. Set timer for 50 minutes. Once 50 minutes is up, turn oven off.
- Leave mugs in oven with door shut until oven is cool.
Cinnamon Bath Salt
With the stress of holiday shopping, your host will love some rest and relaxation while being surrounded by the comforting smell of cinnamon. Now, you don't have any excuse to go to your next holiday party empty handed!
What you need:
- 2 cups epsom salt
- 2 cup sea salt
- ½ cup finely ground oatmeal (optional - you could leave this out)
- 2 tbsp of cinnamon
- Rubbing alcohol
- a jar
How to make it:
- Spray your jar with rubbing alcohol and set aside to dry.
- Mix together salts, cinnamon and grounded oatmeal until well combined.
- Combine all the ingredients and place into a cute jar (even a mason jar would be perfect) and decorate it.
Cinnamon sugar popcorn
The ideal DIY gift idea for the little ones. They'll love it… it's delicious!!
What you need:
- 1/2 cup organic popcorn kernels
- Vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
How to make it:
- Cover the bottom of a large pot with oil and place over medium heat.
- Add kernels, cover loosely and wait for popping. When popping starts, lower the heat and shake the pot. Once popping slows remove from heat .
- While still warm shake cinnamon sugar mixture onto popcorn and stir together.
- Transfer to bowl and serve.
Leather Wallet
Let's face it: It can be super hard to find great DIY gift ideas for men. However, giving him a wallet, you'll never be wrong.
What you need:
- Leather
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine
How to make it:
- Cut out three pieces of leather: 3 1/2" x 2 5/8"
- Flip the first and third pieces so the back is facing up and the second piece so the front is facing up.
- Cut the first and second pieces at an angle. (Cut more from the first piece.)
- Straight stitch the sides and the bottom.
