Top Superfoods For Amazing Skin And Hair

Almonds

Almonds are a great source of vitamin E, which is a vital antioxidant that contributes to skin health. Almonds are also an excellent source of biotin, which is the most important B vitamin to maintain healthy skin, hair and nails. Nuts in general are a great snack to keep you feeling full, but the benefits of a diet rich in almonds are endless. I recommend swapping out peanut butter for natural almond butter.

Blueberries

Blueberries are a great source of potassium and vitamin C. They are also packed with good antioxidants that maintain the skin structure and have anti-aging properties. Try to have half a cup serving every day. Either blend them into a superfoods smoothie, pour them over yogurt or eat them straight from the bowl.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are one of the latest trends in superfoods. They are one of the best sources of protein, fiber, and omega-3s. Additionally, they absorb up to ten times their weight in water, so they keep you feeling fuller longer. You can toss them into oatmeal, yogurt or a salad and you'll hardly even know they're there.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate may feel like a cheat food, but it has plenty of health benefits. That's why I love it! It helps skin stay hydrated and protects it from the sun. And, no worries, because contrary to popular belief, chocolate does not cause acne. Just remember to look for chocolate that has at least 70% cacao.

Salmon

Salmon is packed with healthy omega-3 fat, which keeps skin glowing and moisturized. It also has selenium, a mineral that protects the skin from sun exposure and preserves skin elasticity. I absolutely love salmon. There are hundreds of ways to enjoy this beautiful superfood: baked, mixed in salad, in a sandwich, over pasta, or stuffed into your favorite sushi roll.

Spinach

Spinach is loaded with nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium and vitamins B, C and E - which is.. everything! All these nutrients work to protect your hair, skin, and nails. I usually use it in my salad instead of romaine, or blend it into my morning smoothie.
