Lately, we've been especially into getting our hands dirty and making our own beauty products. We love a Glossier mask as much as the next girl, but you'd be surprised what type of beauty hacks are hiding right in your kitchen. We consume food that gives our skin and hair the nutrients it needs to be healthy, nourished and moisturized. The same things we put into our bodies can be used topically to brighten complexion and minimize pores.
There's nothing I won't do with avocado, so I've come up with a super easy homemade avocado mask for flawless skin.
Step 1: Let oatmeal settle in hot water for 2-3 minutes.
Step 2: Literally just mix together all of the ingredients in with the oatmeal (I told you. Super easy).
Step 3: Add a squeeze of lemon if you're struggling with dark spots (the acidity makes it a natural skin lightener).
Step 4: Apply generously to face (avoiding the eyes) and leave on for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4b: We suggest applying the mask and then taking a long shower or bath. The steam will open up your pores and give you that perfect Sunday afternoon spa treatment.
Step 5: Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel. The argan oil is a great facial oil as well, so apply a few drops to your skin for added moisture.
You'll be glowing and pampered in under 30 minutes, I promise. Send us your #maskselfie by tagging @sometypeofbeauty.
